I hope we run to the water.
I hope we jump right in.
I hope we dance like no one is watching.
I hope we sing at the top of our lungs.
I hope we eat like it’s our last meal.
I hope we learn from our mistakes.
I hope we love like we’ve never lost.
and
I hope we do everything BUT let insecurity take away any more of this year.
The beach, the pools or the lake will get whatever body we give it this summer.
Because a body that is healthy, whole and living is a standard we have grown to take advantage of.
But not anymore.
It’s easy to look at the calendar, feel the warm air creeping in & begin to worry about fitting into those summer faves:
the short shorts, the swimsuit or the dress we’ve been waiting to wear all year.
But please hear me when I say:
IT is OK if they don’t fit.
IT IS OK if you need to buy new ones.
IT IS OK if you come out of quarantine bigger than before.
During this time, our bodies are o̶u̶t̶ ̶o̶f̶ ̶t̶h̶e̶i̶r̶ ̶r̶o̶u̶t̶i̶n̶e̶s̶,̶ ̶s̶t̶r̶e̶s̶s̶e̶d̶ ̶a̶n̶d̶ ̶e̶a̶t̶i̶n̶g̶ ̶o̶u̶t̶ ̶o̶f̶ ̶b̶o̶r̶e̶d̶o̶m̶ SURVIVING.
The main thing driving this guilt and shame is a billion dollar industry that has fed us lies for years and years -
-that we aren’t worthy in bigger bodies
-that healthy bodies are skinny bodies
-that a number determines our joy
We deserve more this year than waiting to be a smaller size.
We simply don’t have any more time to lose. 💗
