Reminiscing on London

When I think about our time in London, it’s hard for me not to smile. I mean how could you not when you think about dancing under the lights of Oxford Street at Christmas, sipping tea & eating cakes just too cute to pass up in little cafes and pubs…oh the pubs… drinking a pint at the end of a long week with friends I felt like I knew my entire life… Yeah its hard not to smile… Or maybe it’s the days I spent rummaging through every museum known to man, soaking in every bit of English royalty & reign (read rather, rain). Oh and gosh, the times I spent name-dropping places on the city’s map just to prove I knew a thing or too about anything (I didn’t) despite the forming holes in my shoes proving I’d walked... in lost circles many times… Heck, I not only walked - I ran for trains…ran into people…lots of them.. but heck people of every tribe & tongue, wearing every style of clothing & story on their backs sitting on park benches…watching dogs run in the parks and their owners running too… enjoying the perfect, yet seldom, London sunshine with the view of the Thames or St. James London was fashion week Hamilton Paul McCartney Love Island scones Queen Elizabeth and but was a lot of the other things too broken laundry machines, lost change in the ticket machine, seasonal depression, missed Thanksgivings, forgotten packages, and homesick calls home. Living in our little suburb outside of the city was the best and hardest 6 months of my life. And I’d do it all over again tomorrow if I could. Thank you to @Mapiful for gifting me such a special & personal way to reminisce on our time in the UK. Not only is it the perfect conversation starter, but it couldn’t be more fitting for our new home in Germany. Here’s to the memories we made, stories we’ll tell & the lessons we learned along the way. Long live the Queen. #gifted #Mapiful
